How do I see where customers search for my stores and where I have no store?

One Stop Store Locator & Maps logs every search in your store locator with the place the customer searched for and the distance to your nearest location. Searches & gaps in the app shows the last 30 days: how many searches, how many found no store nearby, and which areas were searched. The Coverage gaps table lists the areas where customers searched but your nearest store is more than about 25 miles (40 km) away, with the number of searches in each, next to a map of those gaps. It shows where to open a store, or find a stockist, next.

Steps

  1. Put the locator on your storefront. Searches show up in the app once customers use it.
  2. In the app, open Searches & gaps.
  3. Read the three cards: Searches (30d) with Searches per day, Unserved searches with the split between Found a store and None nearby, and Areas searched with the most searched areas.
  4. In Coverage gaps, each row is an area with its Searches and the distance to the nearest store. Click a row to move the map to it.
  5. Click a circle on the map to select that gap in the table. Larger circles mean more searches.
  6. Choose Area profile on a row in the US to see the US Census demographics of that area.
  7. Choose Show all gaps to see the full list.

What to watch out for

  • The page covers the last 30 days.
  • A gap means no location within about 25 miles (40 km) of the search. This distance is fixed.
  • Searches outside the US form gaps too, grouped into areas of about 10 km and labeled by what customers typed. Area profile covers US areas only.
  • The live preview in Appearance does not log searches.
