How do I run a volume discount across a collection?
Set the deal’s “Offer applies to” field to “Specific collections” and select one or more collections. Every product in those collections gets the same quantity breaks, and products added to the collection later are covered automatically. You do not need to save the deal again. If only part of the collection should qualify, add a Variant filter and choose one of four rules: include or exclude variants whose title exactly matches, or simply contains, a comma-separated list of words.
Steps
- Create or open a deal and go to General.
- Under “Offer applies to”, choose “Specific collections”.
- Click Select collections and pick the collections to cover.
- To narrow the deal, open the Variant filter card, choose a Filter rule (“Include: exact title”, “Include: title contains”, “Exclude: exact title” or “Exclude: title contains”) and list the titles, separated by commas.
- Open Price tiers and add the quantity breaks.
- Save and activate the deal.
What to watch out for
- “Exclude: title contains” is usually the practical rule. Listing every variant that should qualify grows past what the discount engine can carry for a large catalog. Excluding two or three words does not.
- Titles are matched without regard to upper or lower case.
- A product-scoped or variant-scoped deal on the same product overrides the collection deal.
