How do I put a volume discount on specific variants?

In One Stop Volume Discounts, set the deal’s “Offer applies to” field to “Specific variants” and pick the variants the quantity breaks should cover. Every other variant of the same product keeps its normal price. If you want a whole collection discounted except for a few variants, use “Specific collections” instead and add a Variant filter, for example “Exclude: title contains” with “Black, White”. That is much quicker than listing every variant that should qualify.

Steps

  1. Open the app and choose Create deal, or open an existing deal.
  2. In General, set Deal type to “Product page widget” if customers should see the tiers, or “Just discount” to apply the discount at checkout without a widget.
  3. Under “Offer applies to”, choose “Specific variants”.
  4. Click Select variants and pick the variants the deal should cover.
  5. Open Price tiers and add your quantity breaks: a minimum quantity and a discount for each.
  6. If the selected variants should reach a tier together rather than one at a time, open Advanced and set “Variant tier calculation” to “Calculate tier discounts for all variants summed together”.
  7. Save, then activate the deal.

What to watch out for

  • When a variant is covered by more than one deal, the most specific rule wins: variant beats product, product beats collection, collection beats store-wide.
  • Variant scope lists the variants one by one. For a long list that shares a word in its title, a collection deal with a Variant filter is easier to maintain.
