How do I set flat-amount tiers instead of percentages?

Each tier has its own Discount Type, so you are not limited to percentages. Choose “Fixed discount per unit” to take a fixed amount off every item in the tier, or “Fixed discount per offer” to take a fixed amount off the tier’s subtotal. “Discount %” takes a percentage per item, and “No discount” gives you a base tier that shows the regular price as the first row of the widget. Tiers in the same deal can mix types.

Steps

  1. Open the deal and go to Price tiers.
  2. On the tier you want to change, open Discount Type.
  3. Choose “Fixed discount per unit” for a fixed amount off each item, or “Fixed discount per offer” for a fixed amount off that tier’s total.
  4. Enter the amount in the field next to it. It is labeled “Discount per item” or “Discount per offer” to match the type you picked.
  5. Write a Discount title and, if you want a badge, a Discount tag and its Tag style: “Inline text” or “Badge”.
  6. Use Add price tier for the next break, and Set default on the tier you want pre-selected.
  7. For “Fixed discount per offer” tiers, open Advanced and set “Quantities between tiers” to “Highest tier reached” or “Combine tiers into complete packs”. With complete packs, 9 items on a ladder of 3 and 6 count as a 6 pack plus a 3 pack.
  8. Save and activate the deal.

What to watch out for

  • Fixed amounts are entered in your store’s currency. Customers shopping in another currency through Shopify Markets get the amount converted at the market’s exchange rate.
  • “Fixed discount per offer” applies to the deal subtotal, not the whole cart.
  • With “Combine tiers into complete packs”, leftover items that do not fill a pack stay at full price.
